DynaIP entity Street Spirit IP ID verification patent reexam instituted

On July 17, 2023, just five weeks after Unified filed an ex parte reexamination, the USPTO granted Unified’s request, finding substantial new questions of patentability on the challenged claims of U.S. Patent 9,282,090, owned and asserted by Street Spirit IP LLC, an NPE and entity of Dynamic IP Deals. The ’090 patent generally relates to identity verification in a social network using ratings. The ’090 patent is currently being asserted against Meta Platforms, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

On July 14, 2023, the Central Reexamination Unit (CRU) entered a final rejection of all claims of U.S. Patent 10,726,822, owned and asserted by SoundStreak Texas LLC, an NPE and entity of Quest Patent Research Corporation. The ’822 patent is directed to simultaneously establishing high- and low- quality data formats for streaming and storing digital content during a live event. The patent was asserted against Fujifilm Holdings, Delair SAS, Flyability S.A., Parrot S.A., Drone Volt, S.A., EHang Holdings Limited, Yamaha, Olympus, Nikon, Sony, and Panasonic.
